Antenatal and Postnatal Physiotherapy can enhance a physiotherapist's ability to provide specialized care for pregnant and postpartum women, addressing their unique physical needs and contributing to a healthier pregnancy and postpartum period.
Certified Antenatal Postnatal Exercise Specialist course useful for all qualified exercise therapists and trainers who work in the specialty of Women’s Health in a variety of health care settings. It offers women’s health experts an array of opportunities to develop an evidence-based approach to clinical reasoning through the ability to identify, analyze and interpret the current best available evidence and apply this to the rehabilitation and promotion of Women’s Health using appropriate assessment and therapeutic intervention skills.
Physical Therapy: Physiotherapy is an important part of the obstetric case but is greatly neglected by health providers. In Fact there are many myths that exercises should be avoided in pregnancy to avoid any mishaps. Although strenuous exercises, weightlifting and heavy work should be avoided in pregnancy, light exercises and antenatal and postnatal exercises are a must if the woman wishes to stay slim and fit after delivery.

1. To get evidence based knowledge about rehab and exercise management at prenatal and postnatal.
2. To understand various stages of pregnancy and the role of exercise professionals accordingly.

· Overview of prenatal and postpartum exercise viewpoint / Need & scope.
· Physiological changes
· The high-risk prenatal patient, pre-existing conditions.
· Hospitals protocols (conception to birth)
· Antenatal EXERCISE FIRST TRIMESTER/relaxation /mobility
· Antenatal Exercise prescription – sedentary, active, athlete’s group.
· indication & contraindication (modification as per condition)
· couple counselling & lifestyle modification to support early pregnancy
· Pregnancy changes and effects on musculoskeletal and posture/each trimester (evaluation & exercise prescription)
· Antenatal EXERCISE SECOND TRIMESTER/ fit pregnancy
· Antenatal EXERCISE third TRIMESTER/ Birth preparation
· EARLY postnatal DAY 1 TO 7
· Diastasis recti assessment & management.
· Discussion on Childbirth education classes setup.
· Late postnatal rehabilitation
· Postnatal exercise Pilates Based on mat & ball –
Basic to modified
· Discussion patterns of fat distribution and its management.

1. CAPES certified professionals may consult about the exercise benefits during pregnancy and postpartum stage.
2. Many hospitals and clinic having their own mother and child care centre where you may support them.
